The GSE All-Staff Meetings are open to all academic and non-academic staff. Agendas typically include remarks from the Dean, team features, operational updates, faculty talks, professional development speakers, employee wellbeing, and more—your suggestions are always welcome!

For AY26, meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00–11:00 am (PT). Unless otherwise noted, they will take place on Zoom. Outlook invitations will be sent in advance with agendas, locations, and Zoom links.

The 2025 Winter Closure begins on Monday, December 22, 2025 and ends on Friday, January 2, 2026.

University Holidays are designated as:

  • Wednesday, December 24, 2025
  • Thursday, December 25, 2025
  • Thursday, January 1, 2026

Normal operations resume on Monday, January 5, 2026. Except where operations must continue, all areas of the University are asked to close during this two-week period. Any decision to keep a department open must be approved by the Dean, Vice President, or Vice Provost overseeing the department.

This year, for areas that close for the entire period of December 22, 2025, through January 2, 2026, the University will provide three (3) additional days off with pay. The additional days off with pay may be taken on any normal workday during the close period that is not an employee’s normally scheduled day off or a designated University holiday. For the other normal workdays during the close period that are not designated by the University as official holidays or a paid day off, employees may use accrued vacation time, any available PTO, approved time off without pay, or any combination thereof.

Should you require additional information, please visit the University Holiday Calendar on the Cardinal at Work site.
