Math You Can Hear, Insights You Can Feel.

The Sound of Functions is an experiment that reimagines how we learn and experience mathematical graphs, by turning them into sound! Structured activities invite students to explore functions through pitch, tempo, and rhythm, encouraging learners to build mathematical intuition through sound. This multimodal approach offers an inclusive way to engage with precalculus concepts like gradient and concavity. It supports a wide range of learners by tapping into auditory strengths and developing a felt sense of functions beyond sight. Engaging multiple modalities can lead to deeper learning for all students.
