Parent–child interactions during everyday routines play a critical role in supporting children’s self-awareness and self-regulation, foundational skills that shape a child's emotional wellbeing. However, busy schedules, fatigue, and isolation take parents away from these interactions, leaving them uncertain about responding effectively when children experience “big emotions.” Pebbles is a mobile application designed to support parents of children ages 3-11, by helping them build toolkits for facilitating children’s emotional development. Pebbles equips parents with understanding, strategies, and peer support to transform how they respond to children’s emotional moments. By positioning parents as learners and reflective practitioners, Pebbles builds facilitation confidence, and supports children in developing stronger emotional regulation through intentional interactions.
