Dear GSE Alumni,

As we find ourselves in the heat of summer, the GSE community continues to flourish with exciting opportunities for connection.

Last month, we celebrated Commencement Weekend with the GSE Diploma Ceremony—a joyful occasion marking the accomplishments of our new graduates. It's been inspiring to see postings of new GSE grads taking their newfound knowledge and skills out into the world with the same excitement and tenacity that drew them initially to the GSE. We're so proud to welcome them into our alumni family!

The Alumni Spotlight this month features recent alumnus Jodi Anderson, a Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies (POLS) graduate who has applied his degree to helping justice-impacted individuals. His story is a powerful reminder of the impact our graduates continue to make in our communities. Read more about his journey below.

This month brings wonderful opportunities to connect with fellow alumni through Coffee & Conversations networking events in New York City and here at the Stanford GSE. We're especially excited to welcome our new GSE Alumni Board president, Liz Wong, to campus next week for this event. Join us to learn more about what our alumni board is up to and to meet current students and other alumni working in education.

If you want an excuse to come to campus, see the new buildings, and connect with the GSE, mark your calendars—registration for Reunion Homecoming opens next month! We hope to see you this fall for what promises to be a memorable celebration.

Wishing you a wonderful summer!

Warm regards,

Marly Solebello

This month’s alumni spotlight is Jodi Anderson Jr., BA '22, MA '22.

Jodi Anderson Jr. is co-founder of Rézme, a fair-chance hiring technology platform he started to help employers hire justice-impacted talent and to automate the discovery and filing of government hiring incentives. He built Rézme around one conviction that came straight from his own life: people who have not had ideal experiences should still be able to capture the full economic value of their talent.

SAIE and SNYA Coffee and Conversations

Join the SNYA & SAIE on Monday, August 17, for our second co-hosted Coffee & Conversations event as summer winds down. For those who are interested, we'll have a discussion of the book Love to Learn by Isabelle Hau, Executive Director of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning. Hau makes the case that learning is relational -- love, care, and relationships are crucial from early childhood on -- and shares ideas on how technology and human-centered AI can support relationships and learning. Come having read the book or not! Make new friends, see old ones, and share your summer experiences.
